Rome and the Cult of Isis

If I'm not mistaken, the above is a Mosaic of the flooding of the Nile, from Palestrina in the 1st century B.C., the time of Antony, when the cult of Isis was riding high in the Roman world. Cleopatra dressed like her - embodied her, really. If Antony had defeated Augustus Caesar (as he came to be called) and not the other way around, then the world would have been ruled from the East and not the West, and no one would have noticed the little cult of Christianity that got spawned in Rome during the next century or two.

Here's another bit of proof of that - a grave in Rome itself from late in the 1st Century B.C. Caius Cestius. Still there I guess. A Roman who wanted to go in the Egyptian style.
